Colloidal silver is a natural solution comprised of tiny, almost microscopic, particles of silver floating in the water. The size of the particles is about 0.001 to 0.1 microns in diameter.

When you study history, you’ll find that silver has been used for a long time to treat various ailments. Humans have been known to use it as an anti-infection agent. During the 20th century, doctors used silver foil to bandage surgical incisions. Silver vessels were used to keep food and water fresh.

Thus, colloidal silver with about 99.9% pure silver seems to be perfect for medicinal purposes.

As you are already aware, bacteria, fungi, and viruses are all living organisms that rely on oxygen for their metabolic processes. Generally, they use an enzyme to allow the use and processing of Oxygen. However, the silver ions in the silver colloidal solution attack this enzyme and weaken it from within. Consequently, these pathogens are unable to utilize oxygen and eventually die.

Dosage and Methods

Always remember that no two dogs are the same. What might be sufficient for one dog may be toxic for the other. So, we recommend that you consult your vet about the exact dosages or treatment method for your dog. All in all, you can use colloidal silver in a number of ways owing to its variety of uses.

1. Topical Use

You can use the colloidal silver solution in a spray bottle and use a cotton swab to clean the inflicted area. Topical use is recommended when your dog has any bites, wounds, or skin ailments. Since it doesn’t sting or burn, you can use it as a compress.

2. Inhaler

To treat any respiratory or breathing problems, we recommend that you nebulize the solution and turn into fine mist. For effective treatment, use it on your dog three times a day for about 15 minutes.

3. Ear Drops

You can use the solution in the form of an ear drop solution as well. Generally, we recommend that you use it for about 10 days to treat an ear infection. Not only does it cure the infection, but it also prevents the infection from growing back.

4. Eye Drops

Similarly, they can also be used as eye drops. Since it doesn’t sting, you can apply it to the eyes directly. We recommend that you go with about three drops into the infected eyes daily.

5. Oral Dose

We highly recommend that you use the colloidal solution mixed with his regular water. You can try feeding it to him via a spoon. However, it is likely that he will struggle and refuse to drink the strange substance. Thus, it is much better that you simply place a few drops of the solution into his water bowl.

The solution almost has no taste, so your dog is less likely to notice a difference.

The dosage is highly dependent on the size of the dog. As we already mentioned, what might be a sufficient dose for a bigger dog can turn into a toxic dose for a smaller one.

Generally, we recommend that you with the following doses:

  • 2 to 10 lbs. – 2-3 drops
  • 11 to 25 lbs.– 4-5 drops
  • Li26 to 40 lbs. – 0.25 tsp
