Kelp is reported to benefit our dogs by supporting thyroid health, heart health and their appearance (shiny coats). With improved metabolism due to better glandular functioning, the overall health of dogs on kelp improved. The high fiber content in kelp has anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor and anti-rheumatic properties that benefit our pets.

1/4 tsp per 10lbs of body weight per day to a maximum of 1 tsp. Introduce gradually over two weeks. Mix with food.

Iodine supplementation, such as that found in kelp, may interact with thyroid medication. If your pet is taking a thyroid medication, discuss iodine supplementation with your pet's veterinarian.
